On 7th of January at a time when Orthodox church celebrates Christmas according to the old calender, ensemble Orthodox Singers conducted by Valery Petrov will perform new program "RUSSIAN CHRISTMAS".
The program includes musical traditions of orthodox Christmas from the ancient times till nowadays. You have an opportuity to listen origin Old Russian Kaljadki, sacred verses (epic songs on religious texts), orthodox Christmas sacred songs in Syrian, Serbian, Greek, Byzantine styles, orthodox Christmas music from 19th century, parts from valery Kalistratov oratorium "Preobrazenie", works by Aleksandr Gretchaninoff.
"RUSSIAN CHRISTMAS" join all variety of Orthodox Christmas music traditions.
